George Bevis was born on 25 March 1891, the son of George and Edith Bevis of Greenwich, London. Before serving in submarines he had served at th Battle of the Heligoland Bight in August 1914 in the light cruiser HMS FEARLESS.
He is buried in Faslane Cemetery.
