Able Seaman Hector Charles Seymour MUNRO

Hector Munro was born on 7 August 1923, the only son of the four children of Sir Arthur Herman Munro - 14th Baronet of Fouis-Obsdale, Scotland, and Violet Beatrice Powles.

He joined the Royal Navy, qualified as an Able Seaman (LTO) and served in HMS VOX. It is understood that he shot himself whilst HMS VOX was at Sydney, Australia, ‘whilst the balance of his mind was disturbed’. It is understood that had he lived he would have become Sir Hector Munro, 15th Baron Munro of Foulis-Obsdale. Hector Munro is buried in the Sydney War Cemetery, Rookwood, in Grave 2Z. A. 10.
